WELCOME

I'm so glad you are here. This first step is often the most challenging, so give yourself some love for showing up.

We already have our shared humanity in common.

Let's start there, with no judgments

and an open heart.

Everyone has a story and

I'm interested in hearing yours.

Life Choices

A specific issue I target in my practice is learning to discern a want from a should. A want is a personal preference. A should is something we do, often as a pattern we repeat, because it is expected or we feel guilty, judged or the need to please. If this resonates, let's chat.

Mindfulness Meditation Teaching and Practices

How do you take care of yourself? What brings you contentment? When do you feel most alive? What soothes you? Where are you most present?

If the answers to these questions aren’t a part of your moment-to-moment experience, let’s explore practices of self-care.

Sleep

Do you have trouble falling asleep and/or find yourself awakening during the night/early morning? Did you know there is an evidence based Cognitive Behavioral Technique to address this issue that has been proven to be more effective than sleeping medications? Contact me for more information about CBT-I.

 Life Transitions

Are you on your way to college, in college or a recent graduate? Are you thinking about getting married, having children or finding a new job? Are you facing a life transition that is stressful? Does change stir anxiety within you? Change is, literally, always happening. How do we remain grounded when our world is constantly shifting?

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Mindfulness Meditation Teacher dedicated to working with women who are in flux, such as life before, during and after college, early adulthood, marriage, fertility, pregnancy and parenthood.

With a focus on relationships, career, marriage, parenting, anxiety, sleep, depression and self-care, I help women navigate paths toward balance and contentment by cultivating a sense of equanimity in their daily lives.

Utilizing an integrative approach to treatment, I incorporate elements of mindfulness practices, insight-oriented, humanistic and meaning-centered therapies.

Together, we will focus on your individual narrative as a way to assist you in identifying and examining the patterns through which you move through your life and its transitions.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

I received my undergraduate degree in English and American Literature from Brandeis University and my graduate degree from New York University Silver School of Social Work.

My clinical social work training was at Memorial

Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center where I was employed as a Clinical Social Worker from 1998-2005 and from 2009-2011. Since 2011 I have practiced privately in Manhattan.

My psychotherapeutic training foundation began with Gestalt Psychotherapy. I currently hold certifications in CBT-I (Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Insomnia) with Dr. Gregg Jacobs, CBT for Cancer Patients/City of Hope Hospital, Prolonged Grief Disorder Therapy/Columbia University Center for Prolonged Grief and Mindfulness Meditation Teaching/Dharma Moon-Tibet House, New York City. I also earned a certificate via the Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy in the application of mindfulness to psychotherapy and the delivery of care. This program forms the core for the Advanced Fellowship in Mindfulness and Psychotherapy at the CHA Center for Mindfulness and Compassion affiliated with the Harvard Medical School Department of Psychiatry.

I am excited to work with clients to access their innate resilience in order to move forward during challenging times.

Mindfulness Meditation Practice and Self-Care for Moms

Finding ways to stay connected to who you are is

not easy.

I remember after the birth of my son, instead of Jennifer, I somehow became, "Jaden's mom". That was life-changing for me. I was so much more than that—where had Jennifer gone?

Let's talk about how to enliven, maintain and hold the you that embodies many parts

Meaning-Centered Therapy

"If there is a meaning in life at all, then there must be a meaning in suffering."

Psychiatrist and Holocaust Survivor, Viktor Frankl believed that meaning can be found even in life's bleakest moments.

In the midst of turmoil, how do we stay connected How do we hold on to our values and our beliefs when life is always changing and continually

tests us?
